The resort sits on land connected to the French and Indian War. In 1757, following the surrender of Fort William Henry, English and Colonial prisoners marched along what is now our grounds — an event depicted in ‘The Last of the Mohicans.’ Colonial-era artifacts were discovered when the swimming pool was excavated.
